Roundtable with the Honorable Kreshnik Ahmeti, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Kosovo

With Kreshnick Ahmeti
Februrary 18, 2026
Moderated by Susan Elliott

On Wednesday, February 18, the National Committee on American Foreign Policy welcomed the Honorable Kreshnik Ahmeti, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, and this esteemed delegation, for a private roundtable discussion.

The conversation provided an informative framework of the domestic and foreign security challenges confronting Pristina.  Topics included navigating its prospective membership in the European Union and the Council of Europe, with the latter offering more promising avenues.  These two multilateral organizations have placed particular emphasis on human and minority rights, broad integration of democratic European states, and significant use of judicial processes and oversight — values that underpin the Kosovo constitution.

The conversation was moderated by NCAFP President and CEO Ambassador (ret) Susan Elliott.  Program participants included academics, foreign diplomats, NGO specialists, and international business developers and lawyers. This program was part of the George D. Schwab Foreign Policy Briefing.
