New York, NY

The National Committee on American Foreign Policy (NCAFP) is pleased to announce the renewal of a $600,000, 36-month grant from Carnegie Corporation of New York in support of the Forum on Asia Pacific Security.

This renewed support underscores the continued importance of sustained dialogue and cooperation at a time of heightened geopolitical uncertainty in the Asia-Pacific region. Through this grant, NCAFP will advance Track II and Track 1.5 dialogues that convene leading experts, policymakers, and emerging voices from the United States and Northeast Asia to address critical issues, including regional stability, deterrence, economic security, and crisis management.

“We are deeply grateful to Carnegie Corporation of New York for its continued support and confidence in our work,” said Ambassador Susan M. Elliott, President and CEO, NCAFP. “At a moment when strategic competition and regional tensions are intensifying, the need for trusted, non-governmental channels of communication has never been greater. This support enables us to foster candid, forward-looking discussions that can help inform policy and reduce the risk of miscalculation.”

For decades, NCAFP has played a unique role in bridging divides and facilitating dialogue on some of the most sensitive security issues in Northeast Asia. Our programs bring together diverse perspectives across generations and nationalities, helping to build mutual understanding and identify practical pathways for cooperation.

The renewed grant will also support efforts to cultivate the next generation of policy leaders, ensuring continuity in dialogue and fresh approaches to longstanding challenges in the region.

As tensions persist across Northeast Asia, including on the Korean Peninsula and across the Taiwan Strait, NCAFP initiatives remain vital to promoting informed dialogue, reducing risks, and strengthening the foundation for a more stable and secure international order.
