The restoration of the power-sharing executive in January 2024, along with Sinn Féin’s rise and the UK’s new Labour government, presents both challenges and opportunities for Northern Ireland. In recent months, the National Committee on American Foreign Policy (NCAFP) brought together a group of emerging leaders— scholars and policy practitioners from Northern Ireland—to engage in in-depth discussions on addressing these critical issues. Their ideas are presented in a new report, Northern Ireland Emerging Leaders: Advancing Peace through Policy. The 2024 cohort of NCAFP’s Northern Ireland Emerging Leaders tackles key issues, from healthcare and gender equality to education, offering actionable policy solutions to the region’s most pressing challenges.
