The NCAFP recently gathered former high-level officials, experts and scholars from the U.S., Japan and the Republic of Korea to discuss and provide policy recommendations on:
- Potential flashpoints and opportunities in Japan-Korea relations
- The direction of U.S. policy and engagement in the region
Overshadowing this conference was the urgent challenge to manage the COVID-19 pandemic and economic crises, as well as concerns about worsening U.S.-China relations. East Asia is at an inflection point as countries attempt to adjust to new realities and the changing geopolitical landscape.
