Honorable Sung Kim Trustee

Ambassador Sung Kim represented the United States with great distinction as
U.S. Ambassador to Indonesia, the Philippines, and the Republic of Korea.

In his Foreign Service career spanning over three decades, Ambassador Kim
also led U.S. diplomatic efforts on North Korea as U.S. Special
Representative for the DPRK and U.S. Special Envoy for the Six Party Talks.
Earlier, Kim focused on strengthening U.S. alliances with Japan and the
Republic of Korea, and covered political-military relations with China. For
his outstanding accomplishments in diplomacy, Ambassador Kim received a
Presidential Distinguished Service Award and a Presidential Meritorious
Service Award.

Ambassador Kim is currently the President Hyundai Motor Company.

Prior to joining the U.S. diplomatic service, he worked as a prosecutor in
Los Angeles, California. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania
(BA), Loyola University (JD), and the London School of Economics (LLM), and
has received honorary doctorate degrees from the Catholic University of
Korea and Holy Name University of the Philippines
